It would depend. For a young worker (ages 16-18) it is not uncommon for them to involve their parents/guardians etc and it may make the process smoother if they are aware of any formal processes that the employee is going though. If it is a reasonable adjustment for parents/guardians to be involved due to an underlying health condition then this needs to be adhered to. If an employee has raised a complaint which is related to a breach of the SRI Framework and they have requested that parents/guardian be present during the meeting this would also be acceptable as we need them to feel comfortable. The rules surrounding representatives and being accompanied need to be made clear.
